Fees
The whole menu, in one place.
We price most of what we do as flat fees, and we’ve printed the full schedule here so you can see what each step costs before you take the first one. If a fee includes the government’s portion, your invoice shows the split.
A worked example: a one-class mark filed through StrongTrademarks costs $699 up front, $1,000 at year five or six, and $1,500 at year ten. If you filed before you were selling, add $500 for the statement of use. Anything else means the USPTO wrote back.

About these fees
A flat fee is earned when you pay it, and we don’t hold it in a trust account. If we don’t finish the work you paid for, you’re entitled to a refund of whatever part of the fee we haven’t earned, and we’ll show you how we worked that out. If a filing doesn’t go in, we don’t keep the government’s portion of the fee: you choose whether we refund it or hold it toward your next one.
Where a matter is billed by the hour, the retainer is an advance deposit against those hours, not a fee for keeping us available. It sits in our client trust account, we draw it down as time is billed each month, and any balance left when the matter ends comes back to you.
The $350 USPTO fee inside the StrongTrademarks price is the Office’s base filing fee per class. Since January 18, 2025 the USPTO adds $200 per class when goods and services are described in free text rather than picked from its ID Manual, another $200 per class for each further 1,000 characters of that text, and $100 per class for an application filed with required information missing. Our attorney review is designed to keep an application clear of all three. If one does apply to yours, we quote it before we file and itemize it on your receipt. On a filing our attorneys draft for you, a free-text description is $350 per class, which includes the USPTO’s $200, and another $350 per class for each further 1,000 characters.
These fees are for the services described, and we’ll tell you what government fees to expect before we start working. USPTO and Copyright Office fees are set by those agencies, so ours change when theirs do. We bill hourly matters in six-minute increments with a monthly statement. We confirm every engagement in a written agreement that states the fee and its scope before any work begins.
